Gastric band surgery Derby
A Gastric Band is a silicone prosthetic inflatable device that is positioned around the stomach, in the upper half, dividing it into two sections, and so decreasing its size and limiting the quantity of food that can be consumed at one time. Either men or women who are unable to obtain sufficient effects from original modes of dropping weight, exercise and diet, for instance, and have suffered obesity for a long time, are adequate candidates for this procedure.
There are many advantages to this operation: * Smaller incisions * Minimal scarring * Dramatically reduced recovery time * The procedure is not permanent and can be reversed at any time * Adjustments can be made at any time without any further surgery What does this surgery entail?
Experts at Dr. Bowler's Clinics exact this treatment
by using narrow incisions to position the Gastric
Band around the stomach of the patient. The
band is inflated by a small access port which
we position just beneath the skin. Saline is
added to the Gastric Band using the port causing
it to grow, and therefore diminishing the width
of the passage between the lower stomach and
the pouch, lessening any food movement. To book
