Who will benefit from a breast enlargement?
Breast augmentation is designed for women who wish to increase the size, and improve the shape of, their breasts. Breast implants may also be used to correct mild breast drooping or asymmetry. The best candidates for breast augmentation will be healthy and possess realistic outcome expectations.

What size can my breasts be increased to?
When it comes to breast implants, there are a variety of sizes and shapes to choose from. Our cosmetic doctors will work with you to determine the best size for your body.

Will my breasts look and feel natural?
Initially your breasts may look and feel slightly swollen or firm. However, following recovery, your breasts should look and feel very natural. Our cosmetic surgeons use the latest techniques to minimise scarring and achieve a natural, balanced look.

Will I need to take time off work?
You will experience some bruising, swelling and discomfort following surgery. Recovery times vary among patients, but you should anticipate 7-10 days of downtime following surgery. Rigorous physical activities should be restricted for several weeks.

Can I breast feed after having breast implants?
Yes, most women are able to successfully breastfeed with breast implants. However, breast implants may decrease the amount of breast milk produced or stored in your breasts.

Where will the implants be placed?
Implants can be positioned either under or on top of the chest (pectoral) muscle. In each case they’ll be below and behind the breast tissue. There are pros and cons for each position. Your cosmetic surgeon will be able to advise you on which location is best suited to your body.

What texture should be chosen for the implant covering?
Breast implants come in two different textures– smooth or textured. The vast majority of women opt for smooth implants. These implants normally have a thinner shell than textured implants, which makes them feel somewhat softer. Textured implants have a rough surface that helps the implant adhere to the surrounding tissues, holding it in place.
Both textures carry advantages and disadvantages. Our cosmetic surgeons will help you determine which texture is best suited to your cosmetic goals.

What size should the implants be?
During your consultation, we will work with you to determine your ideal size. Most women struggle with the question of size and there is no right or wrong answer. When thinking about breast implant size, it’s important to consider how natural you want your breasts look. Additionally, lifestyle factors should be considered. If you participate in sports or rigorous exercise, you may benefit from a more modest size.

Where will the incision be?
There are several options when it comes to incision location– along the areola, beneath the breast crease, or through the armpit. An advanced technique also allows implants to be inserted through a small navel incision.

What about the shape and style of the implant?
Most implants are available with either a round or teardrop shape. Your choice will depend on the existing shape of your breasts and your cosmetic requirements.

Does implant surgery carry any risks?
All surgical procedures have inherent risks. Though rare, some risks include infection, breast pain, changes in nipple sensation, excessive scar tissue, implant rupture or leakage, and the need for revisionary surgery. These risks will be discussed in-depth during your consultation.

I feel that I wasted three years contemplating getting BA and in hindsight I wish that I hadn’t wasted all this time.
Initially I undertook huge amounts of research on the internet. From my initial consultation with Helen Chapman, Clinic Manager at Maidenhead, right up until my surgical procedure with surgeon Hicham Mouellem, I felt emotionally supported and was provided with all the necessary information to reduce any anxieties I may have had.
I felt CHC gave me the understanding and confidence to move forward from initial enquiry to actually going ahead with procedure. It felt like I was accompanied for the entirety of my journey, including one-on-one consultations and full support at all times. When I approached other cosmetic surgery companies I was sent lots of information leaflets but never had face-to-face support.
