Frequently Asked Questions on brow lifts
Will the wrinkles return?
Yes. During your medical consultation your surgeon will point out that the skin will continue to age. It is important that you understand that the ageing process will not stop after a browlift.
Who is the most suitable browlift patient?
The best patient is someone with a general saggy
appearance to the skin. If the patients also
have lots of wrinkles, non-surgical facial rejuvenation
treatment can be combined with a brow lift for
an improved overall result.
Could I have eye rejuvenation at the same time?
Yes, the best results are achieved when these two procedures are combined resulting in an overall improvement.
Will I need to take time off work?
Yes, normally 5-7 days is required off work. Surgery can be performed under local or general anaesthesia and usually takes approximately 2 hours. It can be performed as a daycase or overnight surgery (determined by surgeon) and dependent on whether it is a combined surgery.
Will there be scarring a Brow Lift?
Post operative scarring will be minimal and hidden within the hair line. This will fade over time and become virtually undetectable.
Why Should I Get a Brow Lift?
The most common reason to get a brow lift is to remove the visible signs aging, especially in the 40-60 years age range. However if you have a heavy, or low brow – or you want to remove the furrow lines and look more “wide awake”, then this procedure could be exactly what you’re looking for. If you have fine lines or wrinkles around your eye area or across your nose, then again, this procedure can help smooth out your skin.
What causes these wrinkles?
There are a number of factors that contribute towards the kind of problem that a brow lift can correct – these include diet, smoking and even the environment in which you live or work. Other factors are as simple as the way you move your face when speaking, or squinting. Ask a member of our experienced team about the best way to improve your lifestyle so that your skin remains looking its best once the procedure is done.
What Happens During the Procedure?
During the brow lift procedure the incisions will be made into your skin – the kind for brow lift (coronal, or endoscopic) you choose to have will determine where these are placed. Then the surgeon will lift the appropriate tissue and/or muscles to create smoother looking skin. If you decide to have an endoscopic brow lift the cuts are tiny so there’s minimum scarring and your ageless skin secret will be safe with us! A coronal procedure needs a larger cut, but your hair should be able to hide this. Our experienced team will be happy to answer any questions you may have about the procedures.
What’s the Recovery Period?
Following a brow lift you should be able to return to work less than two weeks following the procedure.
