Hair implantation
- minor surgery
A minor procedure under local anaesthetic, the implantation of artificial hair gives immediate results and has been performed using various synthetic materials for over 30 years. Recently, a new synthetic hair has been produced with high bio-compatibility which appears to have reduced the problems previously associated with artificial hair. However, although results are immediate, some risks still remain and it is necessary to adhere to a very strict after-care regime. Also a percentage of the implanted fibres can be expected to be lost over a period of time, and in order to maintain density and hair cover some will need to be periodically replaced. In reality this technique is very rarely carried out today because of advancements in the preferred technique of natural hair transplantation.
