Laser Treatments
Lasers are devices that are able to harness the energy from light beams and redirect them so that they produce very specific wavelengths which are selected to treat particular conditions in the skin surface or underlying dermis.
The energy output from cutaneous lasers does not include any harmful X-rays or
other ionising radiation so there are none of the associated dangers. However,
along with Intense Pulsed Lights (IPLs) they are complex medical devices
regulated by the Healthcare Commission and their use must be under the
supervision of a trained medical practitioner. Lasers can be used to
remove tattoos and excess hair growth and a new generation of
lasers and IPLs have been developed to improve skin texture and
tone as well as reducing the appearance of thread veins and
pigmentation marks. Acne scar laser treatment is also available.
Before undergoing a laser treatment,
such as laser surgery for acne scars, you will
require an initial
consultation and a test patch to assess your
suitability.
Our qualified Practitioners will design a programme
of treatment for you and will monitor your progress
carefully throughout. Our price
brochure offers a guide to treatment costs and
your practitioner will be able to
confirm frequency of treatment
and costs depending on the condition being treated.
They will also be able to answer any questions
you may have regarding the procedure; for example
if acne laser treatment will leave any scarring,
if it hurts, and how long each treatment session
lasts.
