Dermal fillers
Over the years your skin naturally changes its character. This may be promoted by excessive frowning or squinting or maybe from smoking or sun damage. You may not even notice those first signs of ageing when your ‘laughter lines’ start to remain well after the end of the joke! It is a fact that from the age of 25 the collagen and elastin components of your skin begin to break down and your delicate skin will start to lose its bloom and natural elasticity.
There are several non-surgical treatments available to delay this natural damage to your good looks and Court House Clinics offer an extensive range of dermal fillers which are able to lessen the appearance of expression lines and scarring. All the products used are hyaluronic acid based (non-animal fillers). They help to replenish lost volume in the skin and thereby smooth out lines and wrinkles. There is also on offer from Court House Clinics further non-surgical treatments for lip enhancement and “smile boost” remedies.
Our product range includes: -
- Juvéderm® Ultra
- Restylane®
- Restylane Lipp®
- Perlane®
Prices from £250. Combination Treatment Packages also available with FREE homecare products. Please refer to the Combination Treatment section of our website for further information.
Frequently asked questions
What is non-animal, stabilised hyaluronic acid (NASHA)?
All living organisms produce Hyaluronic acid naturally and therefore when non-animal, stabilized hyaluronic acid is introduced to your skin it is absorbed naturally and works with your own hyaluronic acid to create volume. There is no requirement for it to have been pre-tested and it can be used with confidence that no transmitted animal infections can be transmitted as a result of its use. Be assured that all of the products used at Court House Clinics contain non-animal hyaluronic acid.
How do these treatments work?
This procedure is administered by simple injection at the point of treatment to enhance lips, smooth out lines and wrinkles. A very fine needle is inserted under the skin at the dermis level to dispense the dermal filler and restore the skin’s natural volume.
What areas can be treated?
The most commonly areas treated are:
- from the nose to the angle of the mouth (the nasolabial folds)
- lips (enhancement)
- cheeks and chin (shaping)
- back of the hands, décolletage, face (skin hydro-balance)
- between the eyebrows (the glabellar lines)
How long does the treatment take?
Treatment takes approximately fifteen minutes. The results are immediate.
Is this treatment painful?
You may feel a slight pricking sensation from the tiny needle that is used but normally an anesthetic is not required for little folds and wrinkles. If you would feel more comfortable an anaesthetic cream can be applied 1-2 hours prior to treatment to numb the area and make you feel more relaxed. In some instances a dental block is advised before treatment. When Juvéderm® Ultra is being used however; there is no need for any additional numbing agents because this dermal filler is the first of its kind to already contain a local anaesthetic.
Are there any possible side effects?
Some people have reported slight swelling and sensitivity in the form or redness, itching and tenderness around the area of treatment but this does not indicate the presence of anything unusual and symptoms should fade and disappear between one to six days.
If the lips are being treated however, initial swelling may last longer for up to a week and they may look somewhat uneven. This means that the result directly after the treatment should not be looked upon as the final result. It is very important to massage the treated areas for up to seven days afterwards to ensure an even appearance.
However when the lips have been treated, initial swelling may last for more than a week and give the lips an uneven appearance. Do not judge this initial look as an indication of the final result. It is important to massage the lips during this first week to help smooth the lip-line and achieve a perfect finish.
How long do the results last?
Individuals may vary with regard to how long the treatment will last, but in all cases the full result can be appreciated immediately after treatment and depending on which product has been used, the effect will last from three to twelve months.
All of these dermal filler treatments are non-permanent. The component will be absorbed naturally over time and further treatments will be required to maintain the effect if you so choose.
