Laser hair removal
Court House clinics are able to offer a choice of laser treatments for this most effective form of long-term hair removal. At Court House you will also benefit from the service of medical professionals who can advise and carry out the recommended treatment.
The light from the laser is targeted specifically at the unwanted hairs. The heat from the laser energy destroys the actual hair root without harming the skin and is able to treat several hairs at once.
There are three stages in the growth cycle of each hair. The first growing stage is called anagen, the next stage or telogen stage is when the hair is at rest and the catogen stage is when the hair is dying.
To achieve the best results the hair should be at the growing/anagen stage when treatment is applied. The actual number of treatments will be determined by the area of treatment, skin type, hair density and colour. Ethnic background and hormones will also be taken into account. Darker skin will take 8-10 treatments and white skin will usually need only 6-8 treatments.

Frequently asked questions
Is it effective?
Yes World-wide research has shown that such technology delivers effective and long-lasting results particularly on fair skin and darker hair. The treatment does not work so well on blond or grey hair and it is not suitable for black or sun-tanned skins.
How many treatments are needed?
Laser treatment is only effective on hairs that are in their growth stage and as at any one stage 20% of hairs are in their resting or dying phase then treatments will have to be repeated in order to catch all the unwanted hairs in their growing phase. At least six to eight treatments should therefore be expected for complete hair removal
There are other determining factors which relate to the length of treatment required and these include your ethnic background and individual skin and hair type. Hormonal balance and skin sensitivity will also be taken into account and this will all be discussed at your initial consultation when an assessment of your needs and the possible length of treatment will be given.
What parts of the body can be treated?
Laser treatment can be applied to all outside areas of the body and face.
What does a treatment involve?
Firstly a cool gel is applied to the treatment area. The laser applicator is gently put against the skin and the light is pulsated into the unwanted hairs. Several of the hairs will be removed immediately but it may take up to two weeks for the hairs that have been treated to come away.
How much can I expect to pay for treatment?
It is advisable to purchase a course of 3, 6 or 9 treatments as treatments have been discounted accordingly. Please telephone our customer care advisors for more information concerning course prices for the specific area you are interested in.
