Frequently asked questions
Do I require a consultation?
One of our qualified laser specialists will need to see you at least two weeks before treatment for an initial consultation. An assessment will be made of your individual needs and the suitability of particular treatments. You will be fully informed at your consultation of the anticipated length of treatment and recovery time.
How many treatments will be required?
The number of treatment sessions needed is dependent on your individual problem but the final results can last for at least 3-10 years. However such treatment does not halt the process of ageing and on-going effectiveness will depend on how well you look after your skin.
How long is the recovery period?
It is normally recommended that you take 4-7 days off work following treatment and that you attend clinic regularly afterwards for on-going care. You will be given a post-treatment plan of how to care for your skin and keep it healthy and encourage the healing process.
Does the treatment hurt?
Your skin will feel tender the day after treatment with minor sloughing and itchiness. These symptoms which are similar to bad sun-burn will ease and by the next day any redness will have faded.
Is the treatment safe?
Yes. These advanced lasers are computer programmed to only act on specific areas of the upper epidermis and both intensity and depth is precision controlled.
