Wart removal
Warts are small harmless growths that appear on the surface of the skin. They most usually appear on the hands and feet but are also very common on the face. They look and feel unpleasant as the skin corrupts into rough skin coloured lumps.
They do clear up themselves without any treatment but this may take a couple of years. They are caused by a particularly contagious virus known as the human papilloma virus (HPV) which causes keratin, a hard protein, to grow too much in the top layer of the skin and this produces the characteristic rough hard texture of the wart. Close skin to skin contact can pass on the virus and it is possible to catch the infection indirectly from an object capable of harboring the virus such as a towel. The infection can be dormant for sometime once contracted and might only appear months after initial contact.
There are very resilient and no treatment is guaranteed to make them disappear, however some degree of success can be achieved by a treatment called Cryotherapy which involves freezing the skin with liquid nitrogen.
