Varicose Vein Brentwood

Ordinary veins work by a system of valves that allow blood to travel to the heart. A varicose vein occurs when a valve ceases to function properly, causing blood to collect inside the vein. These unattractive veins occur most commonly in the legs, are primarily inherited, and, although evident in older men, often occur earlier in women, such as during pregnancy. Natural complaints of varicose veinsapart from the prominence of the veins in legs, are: pain, a heavy feeling in the legs, mild swelling of the ankles, and skin discolouration.

Foam sclerotherapy is an enhanced means of varicose vein treatment that has been universally accepted for years as the most practical therapy. Traditionally, a fortifying solution was injected into the vein which thickened and thus blocked the vein from blood entering. Foam is now used, rather than pure liquid, because the results are improved and last longer. Most of our patients are free to drive and resume normal activity immediately following the procedure.
