Regular veins work by directing blood toward the heart through an arrangement of one-way valves. A varicose vein occurs when a valve ceases to function properly, which causes a pooling of blood within the vein. These unsightly veins form most often in the legs, are primarily inherited, and, although evident in older men, often appear earlier in women, such as during pregnancy. Natural indications of varicose veinsapart from the swelling of the leg’s veins, are: pain, a heavy feeling in the legs, mild ankle swelling and ulceration, and discolouration of the skin.

Foam sclerotherapy is an enhanced means of varicose vein treatment and has been extensively acknowledged for some time now as the most desired therapy. In the past, the vein was injected with a fortifying solution that thickened and thus blocked the vein from blood getting through. Instead of pure liquid, foam is now used, since the results are more effective and are longer lasting.
