Varicose Vein Sheffield
Ordinary veins operate by directing blood toward the heart through an arrangement of valves. A varicose vein occurs when a valve malfunctions, which causes a pooling of blood within the vein. These unattractive veins are most common in the legs, are passed on genetically, and, although evident in older men, sometimes develop earlier in women, such as mid-pregnancy. Natural indications of varicose veinsapart from the swelling of the leg’s veins, are: pain, heaviness in the legs, swollen ankles, and skin discolouration.
Foam sclerotherapy is a better means of varicose vein treatment and has been universally acknowledged for some time now as the most practical therapy. Traditionally, a fortifying solution was injected into the vein that hardened, thus blocking the vein from entry of blood. Rather than pure liquid, foam is now used, as the results are better and are longer lasting. Most of our patients are free to drive and continue their regular daily activities directly following treatment.
