Nose reshaping
Rhinoplasty
One of the most common cosmetic procedures is nose reshaping (Rhinoplasty) mainly because many people are unhappy with the shape of their nose as the nose is a prominent facial feature and imperfections are difficult to disguise. Your nose may have a hump, be too long or wide and in addition this may contribute to breathing difficulties. Surgery can provide significant enhancement to the appearance of the nose for both men and women and our patients have reported increased self confidence following rhinoplasty.
In addition to the standard Rhinoplasty procedure, our specialist surgeon is also able to offer reconstructive Rhinoplasty to correct noses damages as a result of injury or accident.
In most cases the incisions are within the nostrils leaving no visible scars and you can expect to return to work and normal daily activities about 14 days following your surgical procedure.

Frequently asked questions
Is it mainly celebrities who get a nose job?
No! Anyone who is not happy about the shape or look of their nose can have it reshaped via one of our Rhionplasty procedures. If the shape of your nose makes you feel less confident then one of our highly experienced cosmetic surgeons can discuss the options available to you.
Can I decide the shape of my new nose?
In most cases yes although there are many considerations to be taken into account and these will be discussed during your consultation with your surgeon.
What happens during Rhinoplasty?
Reduction rhinoplasty involves the removal and reshaping of cartilage and bone – the skin across the nose remains intact during this procedure and it automatically shrinks back to fit the new nose.
Augmentation rhinoplasty requires additional bone or cartilage to be inserted. Bone can be removed from a number of places on your body and your surgeon will discuss this at your initial consultation. Cartilage is taken from your nose (there is spare cartilage in the nasal area) or from your eyes. Depending on the kind of rhinoplasty you need you may require general anaesthetic resulting in an overnight stay or you may be allowed home the same day
What happens afterwards?
After your surgery is completed, you will have a splint that is applied in the operating theatre. It is important that this splint is not removed for a period of at least 7-10 days as this will allow optimum healing.
Will I feel pain afterwards?
Pain after rhinoplasty is not usually a problem. Patients may feel sore and “stuffy” for several days after the operation and pain killers and anti inflammatory medication will be prescribed. Patients must anticipate noticeable bruising around the nose and eyes for a number of weeks which is normal. The nose, can be delicate for some time and will take 2-3 months to reach its maximum strength.
Will I need to take time off work?
Yes, normally 5-7 days is required off work. Surgery is usually performed under general anaesthesia and takes approximately 2-3 hours. It requires an overnight hospital stay.
Will I have any scarring?
Most surgeons perform rhinoplasty from within the nose, making their incision inside the nostrils so scarring is undetectable. Very occasionally open procedure (operating on the outside of the nose) is more suitable especially in complicated cases.
