Radiofrequency has been used in surgery for the last seventy years, and in the last three years for body contouring. It heats the surface of the body to instantly tighten loose skin, and also targets subcutaneous tissue to help break down fatty deposits, making it ideal for those with loose skin after weight loss. It can also be used to target cellulite on the arms, abdomen, buttocks and thighs. Accent XL radiofrequency body contouring is a very popular and effective treatment offered by Courthouse Clinics because of its excellent toning effects.* We offer it in tandem with VASER®Lipo to enhance results. Results may vary based on a variety of factors, to ensure suitability you must attend a consultation*

What is Accent XL Radiofrequency?
Accent XL Radiofrequency is applied via a “hand piece” that is moved across the target areas, channelling a radiofrequency current to heat the skin to around 40 degrees. The Accent XL Radiofrequency system offers a cooling device to make it a more comfortable experience for the patient.
Who is suitable for Accent XL Radiofrequency?
The treatment suits those with loose skin after dramatic weight loss, or those with cellulite on the arms, abdomen, buttocks and thighs. Patients who undergo this procedure should have good overall health and possess realistic expectations and a positive outlook.
Who is not suitable for Accent XL Radiofrequency?
Those with pacemakers, metal plates or pins in the area to be treated, or permanent implants such as Bio-Alcamid should avoid Accent XL Radiofrequency body contouring. Additionally, the procedure should be avoided by people suffering from severe heart disease and diseases of the connective and muscular tissue. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding are also not suitable candidates for the procedure.
What conditions can be treated?
Cellulite, loose skin and flabby limbs can be treated very effectively with Accent XL Radiofrequency.*
How does the treatment work?
Heating the skin causes the collagen to tighten and increases the level of collagen in the dermis, which in turn tightens and rejuvenates the skin. Tightening also increases local blood circulation, disintegration of fat cells, breakdown of fibrous tissue and drainage of the fatty deposits into the lymphatic system.*
How long does the procedure take?
The first treatment will usually take around 45 minutes, but subsequent treatments will typically take 30 minutes.
How many sessions will I require?
Most people need between 6-8 sessions at differing intervals for the Accent XL Radiofrequency treatment to be effective. In some cases, where the cellulite is very stubborn, further treatments may be necessary.
Is the treatment painful?
The unique cooling system of the Accent XL Radiofrequency system means that the patient is not noticeably affected by the heating treatment. Most patients don’t experience any discomfort and there is no need for any form of anaesthesia.
Are there any side effects associated with Accent XL Radiofrequency
Patients may experience slight swelling or redness post-treatment. As part of Courthouse Clinics’ aftercare you will be advised on how to treat this, which generally involves the application of an aloe vera gel. This helps the side effects to disappear in a few hours. Patients are also instructed to keep out of the sun and to avoid UVA rays for 48 hours after the treatment.
How effective is the treatment?
The full effects are not seen for between two to three months. However the treatment causes immediate changes due to contraction of the collagen fibres, and 70% of patients in trials have noted an improvement in their contours. The Accent XL Radiofrequency treatment offered by Courthouse Clinics is a progressive treatment so toning will continue to occur after the treatment is over.*
How long will the results last?
The results usually last up to two years.*
How much can I expect to pay for Accent XL Radiofrequency?
Courthouse Clinics recommends a course of 6 Accent XL Radiofrequency treatments, and discounts may be negotiated if the Accent XL Radiofrequency treatment is used in conjunction with Courthouse Clinics’ VASER®Lipo.
