The cosmetic surgeon of timeless beauty Cindy Crawford has spoken about the best way to achieve natural, effective Botox by revealing his own guidelines for treating the supermodel.
Waxen foreheads, permanently startled eyebrows and smiles that don’t reach the eyes make “botox zombies” an article online says. Dr Jean-Louis Sebagh explains, though, that these problems arise when it is administered improperly. In the right hands Botox leaves you looking more relaxed, like a more youthful version of yourself.
He says, “You have to like your face to come to me – that is the number one rule. You have to want not to change it, just maintain it. Botox is an amazing treatment for mechanical ageing – where the face is over-expressive, leading to wrinkles – which we simply couldn’t treat before.”
Dr Sebagh has been using botox for 20 years, and Cindy Crawford is so enamoured with his abilities that she even has a skincare line with him. She herself has said, “I’m not going to lie to myself. Past a certain age, creams work on the texture of your skin but, in order to restore elasticity, all I can really count on is vitamin injections, Botox and collagen.”
Her doctor adds, “If a patient comes to see me in her early 20s, it is quite likely we will not need to start treatment at this stage, but it does allow me to see potential problem areas that may contribute to the face ageing prematurely over the coming years.”
“Having consulted with a patient early on, as I did with Cindy when I first met her, we were able to discuss and plan a skincare and age-maintenance regime that would allow her to maintain her beauty and negate the need for invasive treatments or procedures at a later date.”
