Frequently Asked Questions

What happens during treatment?

This will depend on the type of peel your specialist uses. Typically your skin will be cleansed and prepped for treatment then the chemical solution will be spread evenly onto the skin and allowed to work for a few minutes. The solution is then neutralised and removed. An aftercare plan will be discussed prior to treatment so that you can care for your healing skin at home.

What sort of results can I expect?

The type and depth of your Chemical Peel will have a significant impact on your final results. Chemical Peels are designed to revitalise dull, dry or damaged complexions, while also improving the appearance of undesirable skin conditions such as acne, sun damage and visible signs of ageing. Your Chemical Peel will be customised to your skin care needs.

How Chemical Peels work

Because our skin is continuously subjected to damage caused by UV rays, fluctuating temperatures and pollutants, to remain healthy layers of it slowly sheds from the body in order to be replaced by newer, healthier skin cells. This takes around one month to complete.

Chemical Peels help to speed up this process by chemically shedding the uppermost layer of skin all at once. This instigates an intense reparation process for more extensive damage such as scar tissue, sun damage and tone and texture issues.
