Sculptra® Facial Contouring

As we age our body’s natural collagen production begins to break down, causing our skin to lose much of its structural integrity. This results in a loss of facial volume and the formation of wrinkles, folds, and contour irregularities. Sculptra® is an injectable facial filler designed to counteract this natural process. It works by by stimulating the body’s own production of new collagen.

Sculptra® is one of many facial rejuvenation treatments available at Courthouse Clinics. As one of the UK’s leading cosmetic treatment centres, Courthouse Clinics has built its reputation on a very high standard of patient care. We offer our patients only the most advanced and reliable cosmetic treatment options on the market.

How does Sculptra work?
Collagen is an important structural component to smooth, youthful-looking skin. Sculptra® is made from a synthetic material called poly-L-Lactic acid (PLLA), which works to counteract signs of ageing by correcting collagen breakdown beneath the skin. Sculptra® differs from other dermal fillers because results are achieved over a series of treatments. Optimal results typically require 2-4 treatment sessions, performed at 3-6 week intervals.

During your Sculptra® treatment session, your face will be cleansed with an antiseptic. Following injections, the treatment area will be massaged to ensure even distribution. An ice pack will then be temporarily applied to the treatment area to minimize swelling. There is no downtime associated with Sculptra® treatments and most individuals are able to resume normal routines immediately.

Why choose Sculptra?
Sculptra® is a clinically-proven wrinkle treatment developed to minimize the appearance of sunken cheeks, and facial lines and folds. This facial rejuvenation treatment is unique in its ability to stimulate collagen production beneath the skin. As a result, Sculptra® can actually restore volume deficiencies using your body´s own natural collagen rather than using filler substance alone. After you receive an injection of Sculptra®, the collagen boosting effects will be long-lasting.*
Are there any side effects?
All potential risks and side effects will be discussed with you at your consultation. The most common side effects associated with Sculptra® include bleeding, tenderness, redness and swelling at the injection site. If present, these side effects will be temporary and should subside completely within a few weeks of treatment. Additionally, there is also the risk of infection or allergic reaction.
How long do the results last?
The final results of Sculptra® treatment will be long-lasting, and you may notice benefits for up to two years. Multiple treatment sessions will be required to achieve optimal results. These results will fade with time as Sculptra® is naturally absorbed by the body, so top-up treatments will be needed to maintain optimal results.
