‘Your Week in Beauty Links’ is back!
We’ll be giving you the ins and outs of what’s been happening in the fabulous world of beauty, week to week.
Are the days long gone of being ashamed of cosmetic surgery? In the Daily Mail this week Amanda Platell admits to having Botox and isn’t ashamed to tell the world! After having surgery for skin cancer one of her eyebrows were lower than the other so she decided to have Botox to rectify the problem. So what’s the big deal? Amanda says “I’m about the only person I know who will admit being injected with the poison. Despite British beauty clinics claiming to treat 500,000 women every year.”
There’s been a breakthrough in hair loss research this week as reported in the Express online. Mark Blake of The Trichological Society says “It is a matter of time before we find a cure for male pattern baldness as well as alopecia. We know so much more about hair today and how it grows. We would like to think a cure could come within five years, definitely 10.” This was discovered after a “wonder-pill” was tested on three alopecia sufferers and restored the hair on all of them. As you probably know, there are currently a range of treatments to tackle hair loss but discovering a cure would be one of the biggest health developments in years.
Have you just come back from your holiday getaway and noticed the damage the sun and water has done to your hair? An article in the Daily Mail by Elsa McAlonan gives you the download on how to rescue the situation. This seems to be a popular ‘news’ topic this week as we’re all getting back to our routines and picking up on the beauty regimes we might have been too lazy to follow whilst soaking up the sun and sipping on fruity cocktails.
